Faline Jones - Cat's Meow
Faline Jones, Wooster, Ohio
At the age of 24, Faline Jones had no idea that the first wooden building she cut on her grandfather’s saw in the loft of the family hog barn would lead her on a journey to capture the stories of iconic architecture across the USA and abroad. Networking within the community, she connected with Rosanne Burger of A Country Tradition store, once located on the square in Wooster. Rosanne was enthralled with Faline’s product concept and quickly suggested more building ideas. She also suggested that Faline add a symbol/trademark to her art to indicate that she was the creator. This is how Casper, one of Faline’s cats, became the trademark/mascot and has shown up on every one of her tiny buildings for the past 44 years. Today, you can visit with Faline in her Wooster workshop and see how she, and her small crew, craft architectural replicas that can be found across the USA. Now that’s PAWtastic!
