David Henson Greathouse

David Henson Greathouse “House” is a renowned special effects artist, actor, writer and director with over 100 film and television credits.

Greathouse developed his skills as a kid in Cleveland Ohio, where he built his FX portfolio, shot short movies and designed and managed haunted house attractions.  

In 1991 he relocated to Los Angeles to work as an artist in the the movie industry. Learning his craft from Hollywood’s top artists on such films as “the Usual Suspects,”“Magnolia,” “Tank Girl,” “Freaked,” “Necronomicon,” “Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers”and many others. 

Through the late 1990’s Greathouse returned to Cleveland every October to shoot his feature documentary “Legion Of Terror” A 16 millimeter film about a a dedicated and demented ensemble of haunted house actors. The true story explores eccentric personalities, the complexities of a seasonal haunted attraction and the rise and fall of a weird ensemble over a 13 year period.

In 2001 he became involved with the Cleveland heavy metal band Mushroomhead. He would create the bands iconic X faced masks and tour the world as an artist and documentarian. In 2007 Greathouse directed the music video for “12 Hundred,” earning them the MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball Video of the Year. 

In 2005 Greathouse began working with FX legend Robert Kurtzman on dozens of films and projects including “Late Phases,” “ Tusk,” “Yoga Hosers,” “Gerald’s Game,” “Buried Alive,” “Hisss” and “The Rage.”

Recently Greathouse has been working with Cranked Up films and productions as a producer and FX artist. His filmed in Zambia Africa directorial debut feature film “ Mama Zuze” is poised to make its debut this year.
